Chinguacousy Park

Donald M. Gordon Chinguacousy Park in the City of Brampton is the go to spot for anyone looking to play sports. Chinguacousy Park offers beach volley ball courts, an outdoor roller skating trail, and a track for running. For the more leisurely sportsman out there Chinguacousy Park also has mini-putt, a betting zoo, and a splash pad for kids. There is a playground that kids can have fun in for several hours or just for some quick exercise before dinner to work up an appetite. Another cool thing to check out at the park is the outdoor BMX/skateboard park, which is becoming a popular addition to many city parks in Ontario.

There are fun programs you can join near Chinguacousy Park as well! Programs are offered at various community centres in the city of Brampton. Among these programs include Youth Nights for ages 6 to 15 years old. Think of these programs as a fun opportunity to meet new people, play new games, and learn new things. Some of the activities kids will enjoy as part of the youth program include playing sports, dancing, making crafts, and playing games with each other. The best part is the low-cost: only $2 per person and you aren’t required to call ahead of time. As long as your child has a “Drop-In Youth” card, he/she can drop by any day of the week. The program started each year in March and runs throughout the spring and summer months. During certain times of the year you can find other programs to join. There are soccer teams and garden clubs, but they are only available to join in the summer months due to the cold weather conditions in the winter.

Teleport through time or travel anywhere in the world by standing in front of the green screen and using it to take photos or videos. Augmented Reality is used through iOS devises to make art feel alive. Last, but not least, is the stop motion animation! Stop motion animation is a fun and exciting way for anyone interested in the arts to experiment with sculpture, drawing, film, and photography all at the same time. Kids can create their very own stop motion films using iPads and movie apps.
