Gage Park

Gage Park is located at the southwest corner of wellington and main street south in the city of Brampton, Ontario. It is the spot for many events including car shows, rib fests, and even concerts. In the summer months you can see people walking their pets, jogging along the path, or gliding on their roller blades around the park perimeter. In the winter the park turns into an icy rink that you can skate on. There isn’t a skate rental facility, so you will need to bring your own skates and warm winter gear. For safety reasons we suggest that you wear a helmet, but if you’re comfortable skating without one no one will stop you. Gage Park is a place for free expression and it promotes healthy, active lifestyles.

The trails and pathways are the most used part of the park and are really what it is known for. Imagine walking through the groomed pathway of Gage Park on a fresh spring day, smelling the green plants around you and taking advantage of the fresh air they produce. Nothing feels better than waking up with nature! If you enjoy yoga in the mornings, you can bring your mat to the park and enjoy your daily vinyasa’s at the park.

Parking is available underground or on any of the side streets surrounding Gage Park. The parking spots are metered, so be sure to avoid getting a ticket. The parking entrance for Gage Park is on the south side and parking is free on weekends or after 7pm on weekdays. Make venturing to Gage Park a weekly activity. It’s a fun way to ensure you don’t stay inside all day long. While you’re there, take your smart phone or camera to capture some beautiful nature photography. There are beautiful settings and nature scenes in Gage Park that are just waiting to be captured in history. You may even run into other photographers taking pictures of freshly wed brides and grooms. It’s common to see wedding ceremonies at Gage Park because it is a beautiful and calming place to start a life together.

There are a few basic rules to follow while you’re at the park, but these are true for most parks in the city of Brampton. For example, the city enforces and expects everyone to pick up after their pets in the park. This allows everyone to enjoy a walk free from worrying about stepping on animal waste. Some dog-walkers will leave extra bags tied to fences to encourage other pet owners to pick up after their dogs, even if they forget to bring a bag with. Help us keep Gage Park beautiful and clean!
